I was born in Houston, Texas, but spent most of my life living in Pennsylvania, and it is Pennsylvania that I call home. I attended Bucknell University, where I majored in English and Russian, and then received my MFA in Creative Writing from The Pennsylvania State University.

I am the Editor and Content Strategist for Evangelicals for Social Action, where I curate an online magazine dedicated to the intersection of faith and social justice. I am co-editor of Mama, PhD: Women Write about Motherhood and Academic Life (Rutgers) and author of a short story collection, This Crowded Night (Cascadia). I have also written for Christianity Today, Books & CulturePloughIn Touch Magazine, The MudroomRed Letter ChristiansAmerican Bible Society, Literary Mama, Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers, Episcopal Life, Princeton Theological Seminary’s The Thread, and elsewhere.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy running around with my children, dancing, performing stand-up comedy, and making spreadsheets.
